Cervical Cancer Screening
Cervical cancer is the 10th most common cancer of women in Singapore.
Studies show that almost all cases of cervical cancer are associated with HPV infection; HPV-16 and HPV-18 are associated with 70% of all cervical cancers.
Early detection of pre-cancerous lesions and early cancer detection can greatly improve the outcome of patients with cervical cancer.

Pap Smear Tests (ThinPrep)
• Test detects pre-cancerous and cancerous changes for cervical cancer and HPV infection
• Cells are taken from the cervix during a vaginal examination
HPV test
Digene (Hybrid Capture 2 test)
• Test for HPV infection, which detects infection with HPV-16, HPV-18 and 13 high risk types of HPV
• Test may be performed together with a routine pap smear
